What tampico is
Tampico is a firm fibre drawn from the leaf of the agave plant. It is the firmest bristle we work with. It holds water well, does not soften when wet and keeps its shape.
That firmness means it is not for everyone in a body brush; it suits the user who likes a hard scrub and wants durability. In products that need force — nail brushes, shoe brushes — it is the first choice.
Vegan labelling and documentation
Tampico, sisal and synthetic bristle carry no animal content. Brands selling under a vegan label choose this range. As long as the body stays wooden, the whole product is plant based.

Where synthetic is the better bristle
Natural bristle reads better, but in a product that lives in water synthetic lasts longer. For a bath brush hanging in the shower, and for shoe and clothes brushes, we recommend synthetic.

How firm is tampico?
The firmest bristle we carry, firmer than horse tail. It can be too much for a user who does not like a hard scrub, so it is worth trying in a sample.
Can you provide a vegan certificate?
We provide the material content in writing. If your market requires a specific certificate, let us discuss it before the order and we will tell you plainly what we can supply.
Is synthetic worse than natural bristle?
It depends on use. In a product that stays wet, synthetic lasts longer. In dry brushing it does not give the feel of natural bristle.
Can synthetic bristle be made in our colour?
Yes, colour can be chosen in synthetic. In natural bristle the tone comes as it comes.
