What the butterfly shape is for
A butterfly mitt is open on both sides and the hand slides into it. It sits in the palm and does not shift while you scrub, so it transfers pressure better than a closed pouch mitt.
Elasticated models grip the wrist and do not slip off when wet. In retail the elasticated version outsells the corded one.
Butterfly mitt versus tellak mitt
The tellak mitt is the traditional hammam mitt: a firmer weave and a stronger scrub. It is what the attendant uses in a hammam. We also make hand-woven versions.
The butterfly mitt is softer and closer to home use. It makes sense to carry both on the same shelf — customers choose by how hard a scrub they want.
Colours and models
White, cream, black and coloured ranges. The king model is a larger cut, and the back models come in thin and thick.
All of them are packed twelve to a dozen. Mixed dozens are available — buyers building a retail shelf usually take three or four models at once.

Common questions
Why is it called a butterfly mitt?
From the shape: open on both sides, the hand slides in. Laid open it looks like a butterfly wing, which is where the trade name comes from.
Elasticated or corded, which sells more?
Elasticated. It grips the wrist and does not slip off when wet, and it is clearly ahead in retail.
How does it differ from a tellak mitt?
The tellak mitt has a firmer weave and scrubs harder; it is the mitt used in a hammam. The butterfly mitt is softer and closer to home use.
Can we have a mixed dozen?
Yes. Colours and models can be mixed, and buyers setting up a shelf usually ask for exactly that.
