Four bristles, four different products
Synthetic is fully water resistant: it holds its shape, does not smell and does not go mouldy. The right choice for a product that lives in a wet bathroom, and there is no batch variation.
White horsehair is scarcer and therefore dearer; it buys you appearance in a premium line. Brown horsehair is the same firmness and more economical.
Tampico is for a range with no animal content. It is agave fibre; close to horse tail in firmness and consistent when wet.
35 cm or 45 cm
The 45 cm reaches everywhere on the back, and that is the selling argument. The 35 cm is handier and gets picked for bath-side and travel sets.
If you are building a retail shelf we suggest carrying both — customers choose the length with the brush in their hand, not off the box.
Dry brushing or wet bathing
For dry brushing, the horsehair models. The bristle stimulates the skin and, because the wood never gets soaked, the brush lasts.
For use in the shower with soap, synthetic or tampico. Natural hair softens when wet, and the real problem is not the bristle but a wooden body taking on water. The bristle guide sets this out in more detail.

Horsehair in dry brushing ranges, synthetic in wet bathroom products. Brands building a vegan line take tampico.
What wood is the handle?
Hornbeam and beech on the long handled bodies. Both are hardwoods and long lasting, provided they dry after use.
Is there a hanging hole?
Yes, as standard. Not staying wet is the single thing that decides the life of the brush, so being hangable matters.
Can it be made under my brand?
