Wholesale loofah
Loofah is the dried inner tissue of a gourd. It softens when wet and hardens as it dries, which is why it is used both on the body and for cleaning. We supply at every stage, from raw fibre to a finished mitt.
Three forms
Raw fibre comes whole, for you to cut and sew your own product. Most of our customers with a workshop buy it this way. Slices come cut, ready for soap bases, mitt inserts and dish sponges. Bales are for volume buying, where the unit cost is lowest.
Which form suits you depends on whether you manufacture. If you do your own sewing, take raw fibre; if it goes straight to the shelf, slices or finished mitts make more sense.
Local against imported fibre
We supply both and there is a real texture difference. Local fibre is tighter woven, gives a livelier scrub and lasts longer. Imported fibre is looser and softer, preferred for sensitive skin and generally better priced.
We send both in the sample. Squeeze them in your hand and the difference is immediate.
Sisal, the firm alternative
Sisal is also a plant fibre but noticeably firmer than loofah. Woven as a back scrubber, it suits the user who wants a strong scrub. Like loofah it does not soften when wet and keeps its form.
Both suit brands building a vegan range: they carry no animal content, and if the body stays wooden the whole product is plant based.

Can we buy raw fibre and work it ourselves?
Yes, raw fibre and bales exist for exactly that. Customers with their own workshop buy this way and sew their own mitts.
Local or imported loofah?

Is loofah vegan?
Yes, it is a plant fibre, and so is sisal. As long as the body stays wooden the product carries no animal content.
How long does loofah last?
It depends on use and drying. Left permanently wet it degrades quickly; hung to dry it lasts months.
