Wholesale floss silk mitts

The best selling item in the woven mitt group. A glossy surface and a texture softer than loofah make it the first choice for customers who are not used to a hard mitt.

What floss silk is, and what it is not

The name comes from the texture, not from silkworms. It is a fine, even, glossy fibre that feels slippery in the hand, which is why the trade calls it silk.

Its scrub is milder than loofah and far milder than a traditional tellak mitt. It lifts dead skin without punishing the skin — that is the whole reason people buy it.

Who buys this one

Customers who find a hard mitt painful and gave up on hammam mitts altogether. Also first-time mitt users who are not ready for a tellak mitt.

It performs on a retail shelf. The gloss shows through the packaging and the product reads as more expensive than it is, so it turns faster than matte woven mitts at the same price.

Packing and colour

We make two models, white double and black, both packed twelve to a dozen. Mixed dozens are available.

Common questions

Is floss silk real silk?

No. The name comes from the gloss of the weave, not from silkworms. It is called silk in the trade because of how it feels.

Is it softer than loofah?

Noticeably. Loofah scrubs and leaves marks; floss silk lifts dead skin without punishing it. This is the type to recommend to a customer with sensitive skin.

How many come in a pack?

Twelve to a dozen. We can also make a mixed dozen with white and black in one pack.

How long does it last?

Months, if it is wrung out and hung after each use. Left wet it yellows and smells; we suggest a drying note on the packaging.
